Housing Investment and Development Cooperative Society LTD (HIDCO) is the first housing cooperative in Malawi and it is inviting all investment minded, action oriented, development focused and feasible opportunity seeking Malawians to join the fast growing housing cooperative. By becoming a member of HIDCO, you are added to a network of Malawian experts living all over the world in various professions who share ideas and are quick to seize the housing opportunities Malawi has to offer. Registered in 2018 by the Registrar of Cooperatives with the Ministry of Industry, HIDCO is a housing cooperative formed with the goal of filling land and housing development needs for its members, helping the government with job creation by creating inclusive employment opportunities (youth and women considered) and contributing to sustainable development in Malawi.

Our vision is to be a recognized leader in the provision of investment in affordable housing and development for all Malawians.

MISSION

Our mission is dynamic, self-sustaining, member centered housing cooperative that provide superior and affordable housing products and services which meet and exceed members’ expectations, delivered by competent and highly motivated leadership, management and staff, in order to improve members’ socioeconomic wellbeing through:

Identifying member needs continuously in order to satisfy those identified needs;
Provision of reliable services in identification of suitable areas for housing and processing of title deeds;
Innovative technical services in house construction and project management;
Promoting environmental friendly cleaner technologies and practices;
Promoting strategic partnership that fosters growth and sustainability of our cooperative.

To achieve our mission, we have developed a set of goals to accomplish the following:

To promote and advance the social and economic welfare of our members by enhancing access to Investment and housing development loans under sustainable conditions;
To encourage regular share savings by providing a means whereby such investment may receive a competitive rate of dividend;
To provide affordable and reliable products and services;
To ensure self- reliability through utilization of innovative and cost effective back office structures;
To forge collaborative partnerships with other cooperatives and organizations interested in investment and housing development;
To employ competent and committed staff to support our programmes.
